Challenge Format (2019)  

1a. Junior (Primary): Smart Vehicles for the Disadvantaged
  • Challenge Format (Refer to platform diagram on the right): 

    • Participants are required to build and code a micro:bit smart vehicle to complete challenges in a line-tracing playfield. Teams are required to code their smart vehicle to innovatively solve a problem statement incorporated along the circuit.

      There will be 3 challenges for the students to complete. Students can either use 1 set of codes to complete all 3 challenges or download separate codes for each individual challenge. They are allow to return to their laptop to download another set of codes before attempting another challenge.

1b. Junior (Primary): Smart Vehicles for the Disadvantaged
  • Challenge Format (Refer to platform diagram on the right): 

    • Participants are required to build and code a team of micro:bit smart vehicles to compete in a challenge arena. Teams are required to code their smart vehicle remotes for the disadvantaged to work together to innovatively defeat the opponent team.

2. Senior (Secondary): Virtual Battles for the Elderly
  • Challenge Format: 

    • Participants will build a real-world controller for an online robot battle in a virtual world. Using cardboard and other recycled material together with micro:bit components, participants will compete to implement the most creative and effective physical control systems for their robots, while aiming to solve a problem statement laid out in the robotic battle.

3. Open (All): Improving Living Conditions for the Special Needs or the Physically Disabled
  • Challenge Format:

    • The Open Category competition is about building real home & living solutions that can improve living conditions for those with specials needs or physically disabled. Which can then inspire our local community to do more with what they have and to make an even bigger impact on the lives of all Singapore residents.​
